The Cream, Good Uni Conference

Here they are, the long awaited Cream of the Crop. Like I said earlier, I think any of the top 8 uni’s can be switched. The Chargers are immovable right now. If only they would stay with the Powder Blue Jerseys and white helmet all the time.

1. Chargers - Both the old uni and the new one are impeccable. The Bolts have it going on down the pants, around the shoulders. The best uniform in professional football.

2. Falcons - The red jersey with black helmet is awesome. Their stripe on the side morphs into a triangle out of a solid black stripe. The logo is both drawable, mean looking, and pays respects to old logo.

3. Broncos - While the orange jerseys were better, the new logo is a massive improvement. Stripe on helmet starts wide, then narrows. Pant stripe arches, keeping entire look free from straight lines.

4. Buccaneers - Pewter Power. What a great looking uniform. Pirate ship on sleeve is freakin’ awesome. New logo much better than the fruitcake pirate they had on there in the ’80s.

    I like the Bronco’s (I am not a hater). But is there any coincidence that they are also your favorite team? Like if the Cowboys were your favorite team, would they have made the T4? Seems that if Denver would have been in the T8 a little less bias may have been in play. I still think the Cowboys deserve better.

    I read your blog daily…I really enjoy what you have to say (most of the time.) You encourage, stretch and amuse me BUT ENOUGH ALREADY ON THE FOOTBALL UNIFORMS. I am cautiously optimistic that since today’s post was on good uniforms that we are through with unis. Right?!?!?

    Well first of all - NtnlVelvet, I have a feeling if we were rating the best looking flop flip styles, your interest would vastly different. I don’t understand your frustration. I mean, evaluating fashion is a key step for a man to get in touch with his feminine side. I would think that you would have enjoyed this journey.

    Second of all, like I said earlier - any of the 2-8 slots can be shifted around and no real argument would be given. It is doubtful that Denver with their old D logo would even make the good Uni conference. That light blue was atrocious on the orange. I like the orange, still feel like they should have kept that as their dominant color but the darker blue and new logo is a huge improvement.

    Thirdly, the Cowboys, until they decide WHAT SHADE OF BLUE they like will continue to have a sub-average uniform.

    Fourthly, seeing how I am the uniform czar, it is pointless to argue with me. :)

    Chargers #1. I agree! Best uni in the NFL. Loved them as a kid, and love the new design. I don’t think I dislike any combo they’ve ever had. The powder blues look good. The dark blue looks good. Blue and yellow is one of the best combos. And top it with lightning on the helmet, but down the pants too?!?! That rocks!

    I really liked your Uni posts and am sad to see them come to an end, actually. I look forward to the slight bit of humor your blog adds to my daily life. I think the Uni posts are actually one of the most creative things I have seen in a while in the Blogosphere.

    So, NtnlVelvet, what gives? Why a perfectly ORIGINAL and humerous posts? Are you offended? Do you have something against the NFL? If you are a guy, I can’t figure you out. If you are a girl, then I can understand why you might be bored with the posts. Since you don’t have a blog, I can’t see what your thought process might be like. Maybe you need some help?

    Grant…awesome job. I seriously have enjoyed and looked forward to reading the Uni posts. I know that had to take a lot of time. Others out there only wish they could be half as creative, insightful, and funny as you.

    Maybe if the Uniforms were all Velvet we could all get along????

    Two things.

    1. There is only ‘female audience’ I care about and I’m quite positive I’m not going into that here.

    2. Next week - post-Super Bowl, I will rank the 10 all-time Best Chic-flicks. (Translation: The 10 most tolerable Chic-flicks to sit through if you have to. And if you have a woman in your life that you are attracted to - you will find that have to.)
