We are home in the USA! This has been probably one of the most significant missions trip I have ever been on and I will unpack it this week in a 16 part series….okay, maybe not 16 but there will be a few!
And I just wanted to get this out of the way before I start that project…I hate Northwest Arkansas. I’ve got solid reasons.
Reason 1. My good friend, pastor, leader, confidant, and partner in crime Mark Schatzman has taken a job at Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas. He’s gonna be on their Saturday Night crew.
I wish there was some sinister backstory to this but there isn’t. Chip Jackson - who I think might be one of the coolest leaders I have ever been around - has been pursuing Schatzy for awhile. Schatzy just recently decided to pray about it.
So I guess I hate Schatzy, too.
Reason 2. Jason Lofton. Another one of my good close friends who decided to leave the Rock for NWA. I realize of course he’s got this minor thing up there called “residency” but what the heck?
Reason 3. My father-in-law took my Sequoia and kids to NWA this last week while we were in Brazil. We have some good friends in Bella Vista/Bentonville corridor where the towns just seem to meld together. He got hit and runned.
The front of the Sequoia doesn’t look all that bad but my dad in law says it took off the entire rear panel of the other car.
Reason 4. Nelson and friends are better than me in Halo. I could argue that I can hold my own but the bottom line is I getting worse, not better.
Okay, I feel better. Now I can talk about the Mission Trip.

The only reason I had to hate NWA was because of a certain university which shall remain nameless. Now I really think that maybe I wouldn’t care if it just vanished off the face of the earth….before Schatzy and family went there though.

I’ll give you my reasons Rock-ers hate NWA:
1) Old Money (LR) / New Money (NWA)
2) Razorback games (Not your university, but you still want them there…odd)
3) Capitol: you have the building, but we’ve got the power. In fact, it’s rumored that they’re moving the govenor’s double-wide up here to NWA until the build the new capitol building up here.
4) Halo: it’s a known fact we’re better.
I’d call it less of a hate toward NWA…it’s more of a jealousy.

Isn’t it called “Oops, I just rear-ended that guy” when the front of your car is smashed and the rear panel of the other car gets ripped off?

1. Nelson, I’m not a Rock-er…I’m a Maumellite. But more importantly a born and bred Louisianian.
2. Jerry — Good observation! I was wondering the same thing…just how much do you trust your father-in-law??

Wayne, I thought Maumelle had an age limit of 65 and older? How’d you get in there?

Wait until you see the Pics I have of beautiful NWA. My computer is down. Seems my cable got cut somehow.
Good to have you back bro. Miss you. Can’t wait to see you and the kids and Amy.
Wow, Schatzy at Fellowship. I know where I will go to church now when I have to work on Sundays and miss The Grove. I think he moved up here b/c he wasn’t getting any more chicken-n-dumplins’.
