The school scenes typically went like this. We would do our “Life in America” infomercial. Part of that infomercial was why Jesus was so important to us as to consume major amounts of our schedule.
As we would move from classroom to classroom - because in Brazil the teachers change rooms, not the students - kids would skip class and follow us around. We would stop and try to talk as best as we could.
Many times the principle would ask us to do a “presentation” of American music - aka Praise and Worship. Then something like this would breakout.
Every school went like this. Somewhere in that mass of humanity are 13 Little Rock teenagers. We would sign autographs and email addresses. They would swarm us to the extent that we would have to push through to get to the bus.
If we were real lucky, we would get lunch - a Brazilian American Hot Dog.
Click on the image for a life size look. It would have mustard, mayonaise, corn, peas, ketchup, lettuce, and whatever else they could put on it. Michael Wenneker ate a couple of these. He is now a man in my book.
The good thing is that our students finally got it - use your platform to point to Christ. Use your powers for good, not evil! We saw 26 students accept Christ as their Savior like this - just in the hallway talking.
We would see a few of these students later at the English Camp.
