I had about some crazy thoughts about how to keep this information from going public - but my cover is already being blown. And I am amazed at how quick information travels through the Underground of Stu’s World. So I will put my very wounded and beat up pride and tell the real story, the unaltered, unadulterated, unedited truth.
I broke my arm.
The tip of the radius (the smaller bone) is located inside the elbow joint and rotates around about 15,000 different ways. Mine is cracked, about halfway to 3/4 of the way through.
Painful? Yeah, but not constant. Only if I turn my arm a certain way or try to pick something up. And then the pain is like someone taking a cattle prod and shoving it down my arm through my elbow.
How did this happen?
[huge sigh]
I have new pedals on my bike, called clipless pedals. They are designed to lock your shoes on your pedals for effeciency of energy and safety. As in - when you are travelling down a trail at 200 mph (exaggeration, not really, Anna) you don’t lose your pedals and go flying all over the place.
There is only one downside to having these pedals…stopping. You better click out before you stop or, well, gravity does her thing.
So, I am in my driveway….read that again….I ride out in the street, turn around, come back to the driveway, click out one side, hit a rock which shifts the weight of the bike to the right side of the bike.
The side I hadn’t clicked out of yet.
The bike stops.
I fall over. Land on elbow.
I still ride 12 miles with Boehm afterwards.
So that is the story. After two doctors, one specialist this is the conclusion…it will heal on its own in 6 weeks. No cast or sling is necessary. Stay off the bike.
Yeah, right.
Now that I don’t have a shred of dignity or pride left…I am going to lunch and eat myself sick.

That stinks. I would’ve cried.
Is Halo 2 any good? The first one struck me as a little slow moving.

That’s the scariest thing about riding …stopping. But hey, wrecks happen, we get hurt, and life goes on. Keep peddlin’!

Don’t forget to wear your helmet,
Keep your weight back and let gravity do its job.

Oh man! I’m so sorry. It was about this time last year that I broke/sprained/messed up my ankle. Bad time to do it.
Thankfully, you should be back to normal when we see you at the beach!!
