I watched Phantom of the Opera last night. It’s my mom’s favorite musical/story/opera/movie. It is the reason she bought a house with an extra bedroom. She’s seen the Broadway version probably a half-dozen times.
First of all - this is definitely a chick flick. Having never seen the musical on stage, I was impressed with the movie. Even with all the singing. It was incredibly filmed and acted. The costumes and feel of the movie was incredible.
This film is definitely going on the tolerable chick flick list.

Yeah, sadly the ol’ theatre geek in me likes this one.
