Question for all you blog studs out there…I currently subscribe to about 30 something blogs/rss feeds through Mozilla Thunderbird. I love it - email and RSS subscriptions all in the same place - incredibly easy navigation.
I’m cranking up a bloglines subscription only for the purpose of blogroll managment, ala, link it on my webpage because I can’t find a plug-in that I really like with Wordpress.
Is there a plug-in that I’m just missing that would save the hassle?
What does Bloglines bring to the table that mozilla doesn’t? (Web-based so that if I’m away from my Thunderbird…I can keep up.)
Inquiring minds want to know?

Bloglines is one click away.
RSS feeds by email combine with the already smothering effect of spam, work email, personal email, and everything else which create pressure in life.
If I don’t want to click, I don’t. But if you don’t want to get RSS feeds in your mailbox you’d have to choose not to retrieve any other mail.
That’s why.

I like your idea of linking to my Bloglines page from my blog. At the risk of revealing how slow I am on the uptake, it just occurred to me that the “Links” section of my blog might be useful for me and not just the people reading my blog.

The links section is the only real reason. I haven’t had any spam issues. Thunderbird runs awesome - it’s a true RSS feed…not email.
and I’ll explain the doorknob thing on the other post.. lol

I’m using bloglines and put the blogroll as a page. But I haven’t found a way to get them in the main template under a list of links. There’s I’ve made kind of a “best of” in WP.
Personally, I like using the web for my feed reading. It makes sense to put it in my email also, but I just don’t. It’s preference. You can also check out blogrolling.com (I think that’s it). It’ll do the blogroll for you.

Sage is a good plug for firefox that brings feeds to you. I’m not sure if that was what you were intending, but it works well for me.

I use both BlogLines and T-Bird; I have 172 feeds at Bloglines, I mainly scan quickly and read when I’m trying to avoid doing something else. I have about 10 of my “gotta read” feeds coming in via TB, I can check it soon as it comes in.
But I also just installed the FetchRSS plugin from Owen Winkler, you can see it in action on my site - http://www.steelerdirtfreak.com/feeds-i-dig/
(I found it when I was looking for the links plugin you were talking about)

Paul - that’s a cool plugin…I’m going to figure out how to roll that thing in here somewhere…
I’m still adding links to my blogroll …I think Friday I’m going to sit down and do one more ‘work day’ on the blog!
