Spiritual Discipline of Encouragment

February 7th, 2006 · 5 Comments · 39 views

Ever get up in the morning and just know this day is going to suck? It’s not really a fear, but a suspicion. It’s a hunch…a premonition. It’s a nagging, being bit to death by a duck feeling.

I drug into elders meeting today (by the way, who actually believes that God is awake at 6 AM?). Grabbed the mail out of my mailbox. An annonymous card. Great. It’s not ticking so that is somewhat comforting.

Alright - it’s 6ish, you’re in a bad mood, just open it. How bad can it be?

Grant,
We wanted to thank you for all your hard work during these last few months. We wanted to show you & your wife our appreciation with this small gift.

A $45 gift certificate to Red Lobster.

Sometimes those feelings are wrong, you know.

Before you use that card, look at the fine print on the back. The one I have is also good at Olive Garden and Smokey Bones. Yours hould be the same. That makes it even better.

I had someone give me this card because “they didn’t like Red Lobster”. I love the fine print.

I love these, I found one very similar myself just two Sundays ago. It sure seems to make like a little easier at times, doesn’t it?

jas - great catch man!! We read your comment AFTER Red Lobster…but alas - we like both Red Lobster and Olive Garden. In the rock, RL has better service…so seafood it was.

CL - I hope you get a thousand of these this year. you deserve it.
