Matthew 12-13

Any fog or uncertainty about Jesus’ antagonistic relationship with religious people is answered here. It’s almost as if Jesus is saying - “You don’t want to repent? You don’t want to be a part of this? Then watch it happen without you. I’m going to do what I’m going to do and for this season I’ll withdraw to somewhere else to do it. But eventually, you are either going to have to join the movement, be run over by it, or try to stop it by killing me.”

How willing are we to do that in our ministries? I guess I’m talking more the ‘paid professionals’ of Christendom. How many of us are willing to gamble with our paychecks to say “This is what God is doing. This is where God is working, this is where there is healing and forgivness and new life. I’m going there to do that no matter what it costs me. Come with me.”

If I had to pick only word to describe the flavor of Jesus’ teaching - especially these two chapters - it would be DISRUPTION. Jesus would be deemed unemployable in our church markets.

Parable of the Pearl
I have found my pearl of great price and to sell it all to get it costs me nothing buy my pride. God give me courage to sell.
