To curse a fig tree. Is it irony of just good teaching that Jesus curses a tree that looks good but produces no fruit immediately after clearing the Temple? The Pharisees were exactly like that fig tree - great looking, no fruit bearing. Then the story of the two sons - which one is better? The one who ‘looked’ good by saying the right words or the one who actually obeyed?
Heavy implications for those of us who look good and say all the right things. I’m thinking of Bono right now. So many people I know question his spirituality because he drops the f-bomb like crazy.
But he’s openly and often embraced Jesus as God, putting his money in Africa to help those who can’t help themselves, and challenging world leaders to do the same. He doesn’t look good but his life is producing fruit.

What do the wedding clothes represent in 22:11,12?

AK - not sure. Here’s my 2 pennies…it has to do with kakhis….
Just kidding…:)
I think it has to do with Christ being our righteousness, our ‘wedding clothes’ and those who don’t put on Christ - are kicked out. It seems to fit with the rest of the stories He was telling.
What do you think?
