Jesus talks with a respected religious leader, he talks with a marginalized woman with a reputation. He speaks of a relationship with them using yet another two metaphors - birth and water.

What is convicting about this journey is that I find myself stuck using only one or two metphors describing Jesus. That can’t be the whole package. He’s not JUST savior and redeemer. He’s more than that. So why do I get stuck with just the ones that speak to me or I am comfortable with?

It’s like using the 4 spiritual laws. Are they true? Yes. Are they the only way to tell the story? Absolutely not. In fact, it’s probably no longer as effective as it used to me. I have to be broader and more biblical in my story telling.
