I’ve been asked this…more than once…what is it? What would it be?
Here’s what I’m learning about me. I don’t fit in any one pigeon hole. I got into ministry because I loved teenagers and college students. I still do - don’t get me wrong. But I love other things as well.
I love seeing a life group leader ‘get it.’ I love the look and follow up comment - “This changes everything. I’m not a teacher. I’m a discipler.” I love seeing an intern grow and mature. I love walking through the word. I love digging and then taking others with me to show them what I found. I love building into somebody and then seeing them hit runs.
I love taking risks. I love grilling sacred cows that get in the way of Jesus. I love provoking others to examine their own sacred cows. I love introducing the real Jesus to people…real people, not so much fake, religious people. I love the new. I love the long way, not the short cuts.
I love not having it all figured out. I love having a team of trusted and loving people around me to help figure it out.
I also love God enough to just obey. Lead worship? Will do. Teach? Install a new router? Hang sheetrock? Whatever….
The problem is most churches have these boxes…that I just don’t fit in.

Man, I feel you. One day though, I just know I’ll find it. The problem is I won’t be qualified for it.

Sometimes you just have to grow where you are planted. Learn the lessons He has for you there before you can move on. The Ultimate Job is the one He has you in. Keep following and obeying!

Nothing real spiritual to say, I am just glad that you don’t fit into a box b/c we really like you just the way you are!
