Senior Banquet

What a long day yesterday – but it was awesome. We drove in from Springfield straight to the Senior Banquet. Our Senior Banquet is a bit different. Instead of hearing from the graduates as to what their plans are (which by the way, hardly every come to fruition), they hear from us. They hear us tell them how we’ve seen God use them during their time at Grace.

It’s a huge spiritual marker for every senior that goes through it. It’s huge to hear a room full of adults and peers say how they’ve seen God use them. It’s also a hug vision casting night for all the underclassmen. One night you will be a senior – won’t it be awesome to hear the God-stories?

Clay and Christine were on the hot-seat last night. A night of laughter, remembering, honoring, and challenging.

I know you two read this blog – so let me echo a couple of things from last night.

1. Every single time you both were challenged, you’ve responded. Keep that edge and mindset all your life.
2. When you get to college – find someone who will continue to challenge you with the ‘real Jesus.’ Don’t settle. I don’t think you will.
3. It’s not about the grades, the degrees, the friendships. It’s about doing what He tells you to do.

I’m so stinkin’ proud of ya’ll. You’ve made me a better youth pastor!

Okay, so I’m not blonde, but it DID take me a few minutes to figure out what a “HUG vision casting night” was…G-man, you GOTTA start looking out for typos! If only for my sake. Please.
On a serious note, what a great youth min. idea! We might steal that one in the future…
