Cool New Tool

June 7th, 2006 · 6 Comments · 276 views

While it is still mind-blowing that most surfers of the net and readers of blogs don’t use RSS, Feedburner has a cool little tool for them as well. Get a feed delivered in the inbox!!

Check it out on the sidebar.

Wayne – this is what you were looking for right? WP has a couple of plugins but they were all hard to use and hard to customize. This one is easily set up and maintained through your already existing Feedburner account. Feedblitz has one as well that looks good but I wanted to keep all my feeds in one location.

I’m playing with the feedburner one also, but I’ve had mixed results. Sometimes when people sign up, they don’t make it all the way through. And you can’t manage subscribers. I’m not crazy about that. I’m playing with another one right now too. We’ll see.

So far, so good. I can manage it from feedburner as far as see who is subscribed and deleting them.

I’ll keep watching your blog for how yours turns out – are you going to go with feedblitz?

Yeah, feedblitz is the one i’m playing with right now. that’s the thing with feedburner…i can see who’s subscribed, but there are 3 in there that are unconfirmed. i can’t push them through or delete them.

Just to let you know that signing up with FeedBlitz using FeedBurner doesn’t require you to interact with FeedBlitz at all; we report all your email subscribers to FeedBurner like every other client. So no need to move your RSS. If you do try out FeedBlitz there are other options you can add to yoru email – many are free, some are paid for upgrades – including open tracking, click through tracking, OPML and more.

That’s good info Phil…I’ll give it a try.

[...] I’m dissatisfied with Feedburner as my email subscription whatever for this blog. So I’ve been giving Feedblitz a go and like it so far. Grant and I were even talking about it all earlier today. Then the sucker went ahead and pulled the trigger. [...]
