Monday Morning Oasis

The alarm went off at 6.15 AM.

Yes - you read that right - AM, in the morning, not in the night.

Four of us met for almost 2 hours. It was refreshing.

It’s an 8 week tune-up/refresher for me. Get in community with people who love you but aren’t impressed with you. Get in community with people where there is no pretense, no fakes, no masks, just the raw unadulterated you. Ever had that?

Very few of us do and honestly, very few of us want it. Why? Because it is the most wonderfully terrifying experience you’ll ever have.

Honestly, there are times when it’s annoying to me. It’s work and it forces me to answer questions that quite honestly I know a lot of people never answer when they make major decisions.

But I also know this - it’s impossible to experience any kind of spiritual transformation without it. True spiritual transformation that holds and last - not the behavioral modification that a lot us confuse for spiritual transformation.

B-mod is the kind of change that only last as long as you are around who you’re trying to impress. Or as long as you are in a favorable environment. Change the environment, the behavior changes. That’s not transformation.

Anyway - the next 8 weeks will be awesome for me. Around 3 other guys who’s sole purpose is to encounter God no matter what it takes.

[...] A few days ago, Grant posted about a “Monday Morning Oasis“.  I’m one of the 4 in that group.  To be honest, I’ve been skeptical of the group getting anywhere.  Nothing against the folks in it, I think we all think we want it to go somewhere but not sure we know where. It is refreshing to hang out and talk with these guys. [...]
