I love Aerosmith.
I got a $25 gift card for iTunes from Jlo and Cindy-Lou last week. I spent it on Aerosmith but here’s my beef with iTunes - they didn’t have the full Chronicles album. So I had to piecemill my Aerosmith collection.
Which isn’t an all horrible thing - got some live versions and studio versions - but the biggest rip was this: On iTunes there isn’t a studio version of Walk This Way or Sweet Emotion.
What the heck is up with that????
Favorite Aerosmith tune……..
Tough call….here’s my top 5 in no particular order.
Love In An Elevator
Dude
Sweet Emotion
Rag Doll
Dream On
Walk This Way
Okay - that was 6 and I could rattle off 5 more with no problem.

An electrical engineer saying that technology is over-rated?

I’m gonna have to agree with the list as is, although Sweet Emotion would be (easily) my #1. If only for the bass line intro…

Zack - yes, an EE saying technology is over-rated. I speak from a position of authority.

It’s between Sweet Emotion and Love in an Elevator. I saw Aerosmith in Altell Arena when i was in 7th grade. It was on the Just Push Play tour. It was a pretty good one.

you’re putting love in an elevator on the same list with Sweet Emotion, Rag Doll and Dream On?
come on…

Like I said - I could have named 5 more with no problem.
It’s picking out your favorite chocolate.

I love Aerosmith as well. Saw them in Barton Coliseum (in all it’s glory) back in 87 - the Permanent Vacation tour - after they had gotten sober. One of the best concerts I’ve ever seen.
Favorites… well, you have to start with 3 that can’t be denied:
* Sweet Emotion
* Dream On
* Walk This Way
I’ve also always been partial to “Lightning Strikes” - from the 82 album that didn’t include Perry and Whitford.
Others to classics I like include:
* Back in the Saddle
* Mama Kin
* Toys in the Attic
* Draw the Line
* Last child
From the more recent works (1986->), I like these:
* Eat the rich
* Falling in love
* Shut up and dance
* Janie’s got a gun
* Dude
However, none of the more recent stuff (even though I like most of it) compares to what they did in the 70’s.

So we are all in agreement that “I don’t Want to Miss again” shouldn’t be in the list?

A random trivia fact is that that is Aerosmith’s only #1 hit.

Permanent Vacation was a great album and part of the soundtrack of my high school years. Then came Pump which was another great album, sort of Permanent Vacation II but different enough to keep it interesting.
Then they started down hill and transformed from a rock anthem band into a sappy rock ballad band. “Cryin’”, “Crazy”, “Amazing”, “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”, etc… Those are ALL the same song.
“Living On The Edge” was the last song of theirs that I liked. (I guess Jaded was ok too)
