This is my final post on Encouragment. At least for awhile. There are a ton of folks I could add to the list - Becky, Chris, Drew, Renee’, Kayla, Moms (both of them).
But Amy has got to be the biggest fan/encourager in my life. I realize that isn’t true for every husband. All these years in ministry and it still surprises how depressing so many marriages are.
I’ve heard wives just rip their husbands apart for not acting a certain way, earning enough money, having a prestigious enough job, or all around not behaving exactly the way they want him to behave. (Which for most males is all the time anyway…so what is she thinking??)
It’s made me on more than one occassion want to ask the woman - “So what exactly does he do that you do like? And why did you marry him?” Of course that question coming from a male to a female already complaining will do nothing more than send the rocket into stage 5. So I’ve resisted that temptation.
I’m pretty lucky to be with Aim. The last 5 years of marriage have been the best. This last year - when I’ve been pretty low, she’s been awesome. She puts up with some pretty crazy stuff - especially when we order fajitas!!
That is not to say - that is she is a “roll-over-and-take-it” wife. Au’ contraire!!!
She’s got a cannon for an arm and lethal when she’s on target. She’ll get mad about once a year - COMPLETELY UNPROVOKED of course - and start throwing stuff. Remotes, wedding gifts, shoes, small children.
In all seriousness, she’s my best friend and biggest source of encouragment. I think I’m a better man because of her - I know I’m a better leader because of her.
Enough of the mushy posts…on to manly stuff.

We were all so blessed when Amy became a part of our family. She is an incredible mother as well. She has been a wonderful daughter in law to include us in your lives and give us 3 of the most beautiful grandchildren. She has been a daughter and a friend to me. And she will always watch Who’s line is it anyway? with me.

I have watched Amy love you well throughout all of your marriage. She has been such an example to me. She wants nothing more than to support you and to free you up to serve Jesus well. I don’t think she even feels any sacrifice in the hours that ministry requires. She doesn’t NAG! That is an amazing talent for a woman! The sweetest thing is when my reserved, wonderful, dear, friend, sis in love spontaneously weeps when she is telling me about how hard it is to watch you hurting. I love her. She is the MOST loyal of friends…she would take someone out for anyone in her “circle of friendship.” Aren’t you glad we are on the inside, not the outside???
