I speak this weekend - twice. I was going to do one talk - Road Trippin’ With Jesus…but now I’m thinking about changing my talk to Naked Guy In The Cemetery.
Why change my talk? I have no good answer for that. Of all the ’skills’ that churches look for, speaking is the one that intimidates me the least. I could talk the paint off a post if I had to. Would they hire me if they knew what I was thinking after I’ve told a student 15 times what we are doing next when she asks me for the 16th time? (And it’s ALWAYS a girl that asks, by the way.)
On the other hand, you only get one chance to mess up a first impression. So I have that to think about as well.
Oh well…off to the pool for a small group party, then the Bronco game tonight.
Looked at houses today - pretty cool. We gotta sell ours first so anything beyond “Yeah, we could live in this” is pretty much pointless.
Tomorrow - I have no idea. Starbucks and Target.
Oh, and I’ll have to make a decision as to what I’ll speak on by then as well.

so do pastors switch churches because they have run out of sermons?
i think either one of those sermons would work well, but the road trip one has pictures.

mentioning stealing sermons, i was at a world changers project this summer where the preacher preached three rob bell sermons almost word for word. they were still pretty good. you could have done that grant.
