Party of the Year

Here’s Jerry’s take on the evening - he probably edited that about 15 times. Virginia’s is here.

We provided quite a scene at Harry’s. Waitress couldn’t take our order we were so busy talking and laughing. She said “Obviously you guys haven’t seen each other in a long time so I don’t want to rush you.” I didn’t have the heart to tell her the truth.

Good food, great friends, lots of laughter. And even though we had two lurkers in the midst (Cathy H. and Amy), I’ve got to imagine that the Lord’s Supper was like that in the beginning. (You do realize that at first, the Lord’s Supper was a full meal, right?) There are times when you hang out with people and it feels like work - not necessarly bad just work. Not last night. I felt refreshed and revived.

Paul, Cathy and the Englishes then headed to Jeremiah’s Italian Ice. Somehow we lost Andrew and Virginia along the way (they are newly married so…well…you know…they probably…well, never mind.)

Did we miss Rob and Patricia? Technically - yes we did. For at least 2 minutes. That was when somebody reminded us that they were in Vancouver and probably weren’t thinking about us at all.

Random Phrases Of The Night:

“If you were going to give Alabama an enema, Warrior would be where you would start.”

“You know that double-wide trailer at the other end of the football field (in Warrior)? That was my grandparents house.”

“You are so photogenic!” “So what you’re really saying is - You’re incredibly ugly in real life.”

“I’ll have you know, [name withheld to protect the guilty] not only wears a Speedo but a bathing cap as well!!”

“How many daily visitors do you have?”

“How do you stay employed with your blog, Grant?”

“I don’t spell check my blog because Cathy reads it. If there’s something wrong in it, I’ll know within 30 seconds of posting.”

Good times, good times….

Next week, right?

I really don’t know why it took a redneck from Arkansas/Colorado to organize people who live in Orlando.

But glad you did…even if we weren’t thinking about you much up here in the vast beauty of Vancouver! ;-)

We are bummed we missed it though.

Sounds like you had a great time. I will agree that Warrior is a good start for an Alabama Enema, but for those folks south of Cullman it’s the best place to get beer. (Cullman is a dry county). Just a piece of trivia from high school…er…college.

We had a blast at the first ever weekly national blog party. And we missed you guys too at Jeremiah’s. We actually waited there for like 40 minutes. We said we were going to the one on Aloma. Did ya’ll go to the other one? either way, hope you guys have fun at the MK tomorrow.

Love it! Oh, and you must check out my comment on Jerry’s blog. The Typo Nazi strikes again!
Or wait, maybe he’s trying out your lackadaisical method of proofreading…
