Harry sent me an insulting but accurate email. The new international sign for choking is this:

Nice work but here is what is more disturbing…Alabama is becoming Vanderbilt.
Nobody wants to really play Vanderbilt. Why? Because for 3 quarters they beat the heck out of you, outplay you, outhustle you. But if you stick around for the th quarter, Vanderbilt is going to find a way to lose the game. It’s a gift. If there isn’t a simple solution, they’ll create a complicated one for you.
This is what Alabama has become this year in SEC football.
It’s also astonishing to me that Houston Nutt and Mike Shula have either traded brains or they are using the same hairdresser. Neither one really looks like they know what the heck they are doing in the 4th quarter. “Do I want to lose this game or not win it? I’m conflicted…”
Arkansas fans are used to this. I now admire their patience and fortitude to watch their team play knowing that at any moment Houston Nutt could royally screw the whole thing up. Alabama fans aren’t used to that - minus the Ray Perkins era. That was a bad time. Alabama fans are used to burying the opposition in the 4th quarter, not playing tiddly-winks with them.
So now I’m wondering - with games at LSU, at Tennessee, and home against Auburn - will ‘Bama even make a bowl this year?

Yup, that last game was awful, especially because I wathced it with a bunch of Gators. It reminds me of Auburn in the late eighties and early nineties. Can you say, “end game”?

i’ve been having to repeat to my self “they’re a young team. they’re a young team. they’re a young team.” thusfar, i’m still just disappointed.

the problem with bama is not theat they are young, cause john parker wilson has done better than expected, its that darby has yet to show up this season. therefore, florida was able to tee off on the o line and just gun for wilson. bamas defense isnt as good as last year, but the running game is what has hurt bama so far.
