Harvest Festival

“We” aka Pinecrest Church are having one tonight. In fact, as I type there is a flurry of activity getting ready for it.

The highlight for me? A lady is here cooking brats. (Not brats, like your kids are acting like brats but brats like bratwursts.) There is also a pony ride which really isn’t a pony ride. You ride in a cart being pulled by a pony. With cute bows and ribbons on the pony.

“She’s cute.” I said the Pony Lady.

“She’s a he.”

“Oh…well that would explain the bows then….huh?”

I can’t stand Halloween. We’re even dressing up ponies now. How humilating is it for that pony anyway. You know the male ponies get completely teased in the barn because they aren’t real horses. It’s not like they can run after cattle or jump fences. They are ponies - little girl playthings. Then to be dressed up like a girl??

It’s part of the reason the fabric of America is deteriorating (spell that, Catbird) as fast as it is.

Alright, enough complaining…off to be harvest festivaled.

Get over yourself, go buy a costume and have some FUN! I hear you look good in pink leotards and an afro.

Our church put on a “Harvest Festival” as well. It had Halloween written all over it! When are we as believers going to stand up and say that we aren’t going to celebrate this pagan holilday!? We don’t even try to make it look different than the world. Dress up, have candy, celebrate Halloween. Call it what you want, it’s Halloween, and Satan loves it! And I HATE it!
