We’re In…Finally

Ahhhhh, the joys of moving in, getting settled, and creating space. I decided not to blog for a week, kinda like a purge.

Now - it’s time to binge!!!

So let me tell you some of the joys of buying a house in Colorado from a couple going through a bitter divorce using a relocation company.

First, they delayed the closing by a week. Which meant that instead of moving in on a day with 50 degree, sunshine weather. We had this:

DSCF0001

Beautiful, yes. To move in - not so much.

That was this past Wednesday.

We closed on the house today. Yeah, we took possession before we closed.

Then today, it took 3 hours to close. 3 hours.

Why? We’re not really sure. Every one involved seemed fairly intelligent at the beginning of the ordeal. Over the course of things we learned that the sellers didn’t fill out a form correctly that the title company wanted, the form was supposed to be filled out before the house even went on the market, the relocation company had only just this morning read the HUD1 settlement, the title company and overcharged the seller on their closing costs, the seller’s agent just acted surprised and aloof about it all.

Our stuff was squared away - thank you Marjie!!! - but IF we had to buy another house…I’d never work with a relocation company again.

But we are in…and we are happy.

I think I’ll leave it at that. All of the mistakes were on the seller and Our realtor was pretty torqued about the whole deal but all of the mistakes and miscues were on the seller and relocation other than near the end of the ordeal, the Title Company gets The wonderful relocation company AND the sellers agents didn’t have all of their paperwork ready. Which one would think that the Title company would catch and fix.
