I’d Do It Again

December 28th, 2006 · 11 Comments · 38 views

15 years ago I said “I do.”

Favorite Pic of AmyI made a lot of promises on that day I quite honestly didn’t think very deeply about. I’m not saying I didn’t mean them. I meant them as much as a 21 year old could, I guess.

I had no idea then that we’d move from Texas to Kansas to Arkansas to Colorado.

I had no idea that we’d have three of the coolest kids in the world.

I had no idea that you’d stay put after months of darkness.

I had no idea as to the intensity that you could throw a shoe, a remote, and a baseball.

I had no idea as to the tenacity of which you could argue.

I also had no idea as to the depth of your heart.

I’m somewhat ashamed as to the depth of love for you I had 15 years ago. I’m hoping that 15 years from now I feel the same way now.

15 years later - I know less now than I did then.

I have no idea when the next battery of remotes will soar or when the next round of uncontrollable laughter will explode.

IMG_0080I have no idea how we’ll navigate the teenage years, pay for college, handle the empty nest, or what health ailments lie in front of us.

I just know God’s given me the best sojourner in the world.

And I’d do it again.

    one of the coolest things I ever heard Amy say is she didn’t necessarily care where she lived, as long it was where you guys could do ministry together. what a commitment!!! and btw Grant, we’ve ALL felt like throwing things at you before. :}

Congrats my friend. A word from experience - don’t EVER take her for granted.

Congratulations to our good friends! You guys are an example of what “real” marriage looks like. Not always perfect, not always easy, not always simple….but always together.

We love you both…and miss you.

G - I disagree with H, I never wanted to throw anything at you…I just wanted to throw you — unfortunately I could never dead lift that much — HAHAHAHA :-)

    Anyway, congrats!!!
