I’m just stuck with the sermon. I got the beginning…I got where I’m going to land…it’s the chewy soft middle.
Aggggggh. I’ve been here before. I’ll just keep reading and listening and writing and waiting. Blogging for some reason helps. I’m not sure why. Maybe the creative outlet.
I met with Josh - our worship leader - today for lunch. I like Josh. One of the main reasons I like Josh is that he is up for trying new stuff. So we wandered into this Greek restaurant named “Ya Halla” on the corner of Colorado and who knows where. (Right down from Dave and Busters.)
TV’s were in every corner and had a guy that had a remarkable resemblance to Kenny G. I can’t be for certain but obviously he was wildly popular. Josh and I were the only two people on the planet who didn’t know who he was.
The food was really good - I had lamb kabob and some pita with some funky sauce and lentel soup. Our waiter spoke a minimum of English but was very friendly. There were these rows of vacuum cleaner looking things on the counter. Looked like the thing out the Mos Eisley Space Port Cantina scene in Star Wars: A New Hope. So I asked the waiter what they were.
“Smokers. You smoke off of them.”
In other words, a Greek bong.
So lunch was not only good, it was educational.
