Went to see Amazing Grace last night - a break in the middle of my personal hell called “taxes.”
Believe the hype. It’s good - in a sense and sensibility kind of way. It’s British - so know that going in but it’s not just the story that is good - it’s how it was filmed, the acting, the pace, the memorable moments, and did I mention the acting?
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a movie that forces you to engage and doesn’t insult the viewer.
I’m not sure how good it related to the student population - most of the movie goers were older and the students that were with me - well, one of them slept, the other two had a lot of questions afterward.

Cindy and I went and saw it today as well. I agree that it makes you engage and think about how the African slaves were treated..not as people. Problem is, some of this still goes on today, just not so out in the open. It made me ask myself how would I have responded to the slave trade if I lived in those times. I know now, as a believer, how I would respond, but how would I have responded growing up with it being “normal”?

Went to see it with a friend. He thought it was a little slow in parts. I really enjoyed it. I’m going to see it again. The first The next time is to focus on the spoken content more.
Then, again, I’m just weird like that.

Ok, my last comment didn’t make much sense, did it? The first time I went to see it was for the storyline, acting, entertainment, etc. The next time I see it I want to focus more on the spoken content.
Hope that makes better sense

My mom and I just got back from seeing it. Wow! I laughed; I cried several times; and I even clapped. Makes you want to truly leave a legacy that matters! What a great man! What a great story! How sad that there are still people enslaved in this world in 2007! How do I make a difference today?
