Brats for Jesus

April 24th, 2007 · 6 Comments · 16 views

I’m sitting in our local Christian bookstore/coffee shop and there are a group of moms that just let their 4 year old boys loose in the store.

I mean loose.

They are running in circles, jumping off the stage and the moms are sitting around a coffee table oblivious to what they are doing.

The store manager just asked them to stop running around and jumping off the stage.

Moms still sitting there.

Kids still running around and jumping.

I’m about ready to pick up two in each hand and plop them down in the middle of the coffee table.

Moms look over - “Honey, please stop.”

Kids still running.

Moms still conversing.

What gene is it that moms of toddlers can be totally oblivious to how their children are acting when no one else can miss them?

Gotta go - this is getting way to chaotic.

Sounds like a couple of toddlers - and possibly some moms - could use a can of whoop butt!

This is the reason that we have a pact with our best friends. We will tell them if their child is out of control and they will do the same for us. We have promised to listen and open our eyes to what they tell us. Dear lord… my mom would have yanked a knot in my rear-end.

If I had that gene, I would take my 4 into public! Just joking…..Actually, I can’t stand it when people pay no attention to their kids and no one ever says anything to the parents.

that is one of my all time pet peeves. my theory is that parents don’t ‘correct’ their kids in public cuz they know the kids won’t obey them - and they don’t want to face a confrontation in which they lose. more than likely, they lose when they challenge them in private as well …..
