What a Great Saturday

Praise God for college football. And this weekend was awesome!!!

1. Appalachian State. I’m now a Mountaineer fan. Just walked into the Big House and punched the Big Blue in the mouth.

2. Virginia Tech. What an emotional game. I don’t know how they even played but they did.

3. Notre Dame. Any weekend that Notre Dame gets manhandled is a good one. I love it when the Irish lose. While we are bashing Notre Dame, what’s up with NBC’s coverage? The camera’s look like they are covering the game from on top of the light posts. Even in HD, the game looks fuzzy. Although that could be the same quality of the ND offense.

4. ESPN Coverage. Nobody covers college football like these guys. I’d even say this - they cover college football better than any network covers any sport. Ever.

5. SEC football. There is no argument. It is, without a doubt, the elite football conference in America. There are no better teams, no better venues. It’s a shame they have to now go and beat each other up.

5a. Alabama. Yes, it was against Western Carolina but they punished them. They didn’t punish ANYBODY last year.

5b. LSU. My gosh that defense looks sick. Of course, it was Mississippi State but…we’ll no more next week when they play Virginia Tech.

5c. Georgia. This just in…they scored again against Oklahoma State.

5d. Arkansas. All I can say is this. Enjoy McFadden while you can because next year he is playing on Sundays. And unfortunately, you’re still stuck with Houston Nutt.

5e. Auburn. I’m not sure what to think. They looked like junk - which is good but its also bad. It’s a complicated relationship we Tide fans have with Auburn. Every year, we want them to go undefeated until we have a chance to beat the crap out of them. Of course…that has happened in 5 years.

All in all…great Saturday.

Yesterday is a stellar example of why college football is better than the NFL. And yes, Auburn looked pathetic. The whole NBC/Notre Dame thing must be some kind of co-dependent relationship - I just don’t get it (or Notre Dame, for that matter - even Arkansas would have crushed them in the Sugar Bowl last year nearly as bad as LSU did). The Alabama/Ark game will be a great matchup. Ark is down 1 tick from last year, Alabama up about 2 - it’s a toss up.

so what scares you worse about coach nutt grant? his winning record against bama or that coach saban said he was the toughest coach for him to prepare against?

Personally, I’m fine with Nutt. Great recruiter…not so great game manager.

It’s just every year every fan and sportswriter in Arkansas wants him gone, wants his cell phone, and blah, blah, blah.

Alabama/Arkansas ‘07…Dear God, just don’t let it come down to a field goal otherwise the Tide is done for.

    - Dude, I knew I liked you for a reason!

Big game tonight with the FSU/ClemSon game. So good to finally be back in high football gear!

i was just trying to get jabs at you and bama, i wasnt mad or trying to defend my coach, so you dont offend me by saying those things. those idiots who did that are a whole nother story though.

that is a big game, it will tell a lot and the set the tone for both teams. never an easy game down in tuscaloosa.

    Clay,

I lost your phone number when I changed phones and it wasn’t on the SIM card. Can you call me on the same number I have always had. Just wanted to check and see how things are going with you.

Are you still planning on trying out for cheer leader? JK

Well, that has to be a first for the G sides - getting a phone number and starting a vicious rumor about Clay… ha ha
