Our church rented out a theater to see Prince Caspian today. Believe the hype. It’s that good.
If you’re a huge C.S. Lewis fan, you will love the way the director tells the story - not giving all the details of why certain things are going on early in the film. I love the fact that this film can stand alone - not tied or linked to the first film.
And you can also tell that Walden Media had the money this time around for the CGI. The effects in this film look so much better than the first one.
The story was tight and well-told. The acting from the Pevensie children is spot on. Ever watch a film with children actors and cringe because their performance was either a wee bit over the top or completely lifeless? (Think Annakin Skywalker in any of the prequels.) Not here. The kids in this one nail their characters - even Prince Caspian.
Highly recommend the movie.

i agree with everything you said grant. i also thought the scene with aslan and lucy was sweet and so was the scene where susan asks peter if he thinks he killed the white witch by himself.
also, is narnia a metaphor for discipleship and thats why it ends like it does?
I was thinking about your group-viewing and meant to email you this weekend to see how everything went. From everything I’ve seen/heard, it sounds like the movie is taking everybody by surprise (it being a ’sequel’).
Good to hear things went smoothly. I’m hoping to see it soon, but with a 10 wk old and 2 yr old, I’m pretty sure I’ll be watching it on DVD/Pay Per View.
the makers of Prince Caspian kept to the original story better than i would have expected… i had heard they were going to make it into a silly pure-action flick, but thankfully this was not so much the case
