After a long process of hide and seek with God, we’re heading to Topeka, Kansas for me to be the Lead Pastor at Western Hills Baptist Church.
We told the students and our ministry team leaders this past week. The slow leak is happening on Facebook. We’re telling the rest of the congregation this morning.
It wasn’t part of “The Plan” to leave Pinecrest, Parker, or this beautiful state. But someone famous once said “We make plans and God laughs.” Or maybe someone famous didn’t say it and it’s one of those quotes that really isn’t a quote, everyone just thinks it’s a quote.
The long journey of how we got to Western Hills is told here. We’ve experience polar opposite sets of emotions through this process but we’re confident this is God’s call.
There will be a lot of dinners, lunches, coffees, thank yous, tears and laughter in the next few weeks ahead.
Our last Sunday at Pinecrest will be December 28th (our 17 year wedding anniversary).

You’re moving closer! Er, sort of
Andrea & I will be praying for you and your family during this transition time. I know it will be filled with mixed emotions. God is good, though, and I can’t wait to see how God uses you guys for His Kingdom in Topeka!

Like I told Harry, there comes a time in every youth pastor’s life where he is too old to to be a youth pastor. Haha.
Also, does this mean you will be coordinating events with the Westboro Baptist Church which is also in Topeka? Haha.
Seriously, though, congrats and keep up the good work.

So, how are you going to get a cool photo like the one above in Topeka? Congrats.

Oh my goodness! Well, that is crazy exciting! I dated a guy (no wise cracks please) who went to that church, the Baldwins, great family, I hope they’re still there. I have to say that my jaw dropped as I read this post and the next, but I’m so excited for you all! AND I’m selfishly excited that Greg and I will hopefully get to see you all more frequently since you’ll be close to Emporia. All our love and prayers and excitement!

Kim – I have a great one liner for you concering your dating life.
Should I keep it to myself? I mean, this kind of humor is precious and rare. To not post it is almost criminal.

I love it when our elders talk dirty.
You are my hero, Dave.

I just saw Kim Kings comment and yes their is still a Baldwin at WHBC. Although my name is now different, I still claim the name.
I am the only one of five left, the others are no longer in Topeka.
Grant I met you when you were visiting, but the only way you might remember me was threw my two little babies. One who is two and the other who is eight months. I will reintroduce my self, husband and children.
We are very excited for our journey with you to begin.
Have a Merry Christmas and we’ll see your shortly.

I’m sure I’ve heard it out of your mouth before, dearest Grant. And don’t worry, I only dated ONE guy from Topeka, so you won’t be running into any more ex-boyfriends of mine. (a relief to me)
Caroline, you’re married with two kiddos? That’s beautiful! Your comment definitely made me smile.
